Mission

The main mission was more than just an update, but also helped the DART staff’s lives be easier. We needed to give them a new structure for how people experience the site, help them organize the applicants in an easier way, give them more marketing pages to use, while also giving them a new website that looked fresh and performed well.

Challenge

The challenges were to think through all of the content that they had on the older site, what needed to stay, what needed to go, and what needed to be off of the main navigation but still be on the site. DART is also particular about the way that it attracts people, and wanted the visitors to HAVE to read some areas to get to where they can take further action.

Another challenge was that DART does not have many images, so we needed to come up with an illustration style that was versatile to be used for esthetics and to contextualize some of the content areas in an interesting way.

On the DART logo, there are circles, so I thought that using round and semi-round objects could give us a strong element that we can use over and over and have it feel different while on brand.
